Here you can find all of the Best Practices, PR Matters, and Opinion pieces from the Firm Voice e-newsletter, which was published from March 2008 through March 2010.  The Firm Voice is a treasure trove of best practices and tips from industry thought leaders, and covers the spectrum of all things relevant to working at and running a public relations firms.  The Firm Voice has taken a new life in the form of a blog

This booklet captures the highlights of the third annual GAP study, published in 2004 and sponsored by the Council. The report examined how organizations perceive the value of, use and organize their in-house public relations departments. It also includes information on how they work with their outside agencies.

A measurement booklet created to help public relations professionals articulate and demonstrate how an investment in public relations can deliver a significant return. Available in hard copy only. Price: $10.00


Fit to Win
This is an evaluation tool developed for public relations firms to use as they determine whether or not to pursue a piece of new business. This evaluation-scorecard was developed in response to the many questions and criticisms the Council has heard recently about the new business process and RFPs. Respondents are asked 25 questions, from “Is this a good fit, financially/culturally/strategically” to “How competitive are we?” to “What is really motivating us to pursue this business?”  After answering a total of 20 questions, a 0-4 rating system provides firms with a range of opinions, from “Great fit -- Go for it,” to “Bad Fit -- Run Away.” Published in November, 2007.

 

Hiring a Public Relations Firm: A Guide for Clients
To assist clients preparing to hire a public relations agency, the Council has prepared a guide that improves the efficiency and success rate of agency searches. It includes a turnkey process for drafting a request for credentials, creating a shortlist and evaluating competing firms. Price: $10.00
